Hardfacing Electrodes

ES 33 A5.13: E FeCr-1 / EN 14700: E Fe 15

Description

ES 33 is a basic coated electrode that is highly resistant to abrasion wear caused by coarse hard minerals. It has highly concentrated Chromium carbide in its structure. ES 33 GRZ should be preferred for parts that are exposed to high impact. Preheating generally not required, metal recovery is approx. % 220. Re-drying is 300°C-350°C min 2 h. Hardness : 60 - 62 HRC

Applications

Bucket conveyors, extruder screws, dragline buckets, dredgers, scrappers, screw conveyors, press screws, heads in ceramic industry, mixer blades and grinding rollers can be hard faced with E S 60 GRZ. It for hard facing to provide maximum resistance to extreme mineral abrasion. A typical application is string beads on earth moving, cement mill and brick making equipment. It should not be used for more than three passes. Inter pass temperature should be 300°C - 350°C. In applications requiring a thick deposit metal, ES 307-17 or ES 308 - 17 should be used for buffering. It is crucial to have a buffer layer with ES 307-17 for % 12-14 Mn containing steels before hard facing applications.
