MIG / MAG Wire (GMAW)

ES SG3 A5.18: ER70S-6 / EN 440: G4Si1E N 440: G4Si 1

Description

A copper coated electrode for gas metal arc welding. Slightly higher silicon and manganese alloyed than ES SG2

Typical Chemical Composition (%)

Applications

ES SG3 should be used when a hig¬her silicon and manganese content is required or desired compared to AW SG2. The higher contents of silicon and manganese increase the yield stress and the tensile strenght of the weld metal (20-50 N/mm2 compared with E S SG3). The high silicon content promotes a low sensitivity to surface impurities and contributes to smooth, sound welds
