Stainless Steel Electrodes

ES 307 - 17 A5.4: E 307- 17 / EN 1600 : E 18 9 Mn Mo R 32

Description

ES 307 - 17 is a basic coated electrode with an alloyed core. Therefore it can tolerate higher current than ES 307 - 15. It gives a filler metal of the Cr-Ni-Mo type that is high ( 4.5 % ) in Mn content. weld beads are highly resistant to impact, wearing and cracking due to heat effects shock, keep its toughness down to -100°C. It gives a fully austenitic, nonmagnetic weld metal. It has % 155 metal recovery. Re-drying is 300°C min. 2 h.

Applications

It is used for forming a buffer layer hard facing and joining of armour steel plates, steel welds that are low hardenable and work-hardening austenitic Mn steels. It can also be used for dissimilar weld joints of C-Mn, Cr-Ni steels with austenitic, heat resistant steels and steels that are difficult to weld and ferritic stainless steels. There is no need to apply heat treatment to armour steel plates before or after the welding . Interpass temperature during should not exceed 120°C
